Maryland Environmental Trust Protects Scenic Farm in Talbot County

The Maryland Environmental Trust, partnering with the Eastern Shore Land Conservancy, has permanently protected 232 acres of farm and forest land along Maryland Route 33, known as the Chesapeake Country Scenic Byway.

Talbot County Man Charged With Multiple Child Sex Offenses

As a result of an Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigation, Maryland State Police criminal investigators today charged a Talbot County man with multiple sex offenses involving the abuse of a child that began 27 years ago and they are continuing the investigation after developing evidence indicating there may be other victims.

Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum offers chart navigation course in January 2018

The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum is offering a two-day chart navigation course which begins on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. to noon, and concludes Sunday, January 14 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Participation is limited, with pre-registration needed.

New weather station helps students learn at Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum

Photo: A new weather station, shown here, has recently been installed on Fogg’s Cove at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels, Md. The station is being used in CBMM’s K-12 school and ecology programming to monitor weather and water conditions, and is made possible through a generous gift from Lesley and Fred Israel.

A new, in-the-water weather station has recently been installed at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum on Fogg’s Cove along the Miles River.
