Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Eastern Shore’s Executive Director, Jessica Mimms, was excited to present this year’s Eastern Shore Big Brother of the Year to Joshua Mason. The prestigious Award recognizes excellence and selflessness in mentoring. Mason began mentoring his Little in 2008. Over the past eight years Mason and his Little have built and maintained a strong relationship with one another. The Little’s mother reports a remarkable improvement in his academic performance and behavior; stating she has seen a dramatic change in attitude, including increased self-confidence. Mason’s contributions have made a huge impact on his Little, as well as the Agency, earning him the distinction of Big Brother of the Year.

This year’s Big Impact Award was presented to Steven Fulkrod. This award recognizes one individual’s outstanding contributions to the Agency. Fulkrod was instrumental in ensuring BBBSES became an independent affiliate, and continued to volunteer countless hours to encourage the success of the new Agency.
