Thank A Police Officer Day is a nation event taking place on Saturday, September 16th. Here on Delmarva (Delaware and the eastern shore areas of Maryland and Virginia), we are encouraging local residents to join us in recognizing our local LEO’s. Anyone can participate by adopting a department, writing cards or showing support for our men and women in blue! This event was launched by the Whole Truth Project in 2012, and everyone can participate in the effort to thank and acknowledge those who serve and protect.

How can you participate? Here are some ideas!

• Deliver lunch to your local police station
• Host a card-making event with neighbors
• Help your kids write a letter thanking their local PD
• Show your support with a thin blue line flag
• Have a cake delivered to a department

NOTE: It is generally best to call ahead to any locations you will be visiting. Not all agencies have regular staffed offices on weekends which is why the 15th or 16th may be a better option. We also suggest that you ask an agency ahead of time if you are planning to bring goodies as not every department will accept homemade items.

To join us here in the local area visit www.facebook.com/DelmarvaSupportsLawEnforcement or message us through the page.
