FALL FLEA MARKET | SATURDAY, OCTOBER 7
It’s time to clean out your garage, attic or basement and join other flea marketers for the City of Newark, Parks and Recreation Department’s Annual Fall Flea Market taking place Saturday, Oct. 7 from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the George Wilson Center. This event is not only fun but also profitable and can be a great time for the whole family! The Flea Market will take place inside and outside of the George Wilson Center.

MAYOR’S HARVEST | SUNDAY, OCTOBER 8
The City of Newark Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting its first ever Mayor’s Harvest Festival this year at Olan Thomas Park October 8 from 3 – 8:30 p.m. for all ages! Grab your friends and family for a night full of fall fun with country line dancing, hay rides, games, crafts, local food vendors, and more! At 6:30 p.m. grab a bag of popcorn and bring a blanket to enjoy a free outdoor showing of Hocus Pocus.

SPORTS & AQUATICS

ARCHERY CLINIC | MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 25
Our Archery Clinic program is taking place Monday, September 25, from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. at New Castle 100 Archers for ages 8 and up. This archery clinic is designed to introduce the sport of archery. Participants will use state of the art compound bows as they learn the basics of archery. Safety, proper stance and follow through will be taught. You will be hitting the bull’s eye in no time. Space is limited. Pre-registration is required by the Friday before the event.

YOUTH BASKETBALL LEAGUES | STARTING NOVEMBER 6
Basketball registration is starting now, for ages 8 – 14! Our recreational youth basketball program emphasizes participation, fun, sportsmanship, and skill development. Practice sessions begin in November with league play from early December to mid-March. Each team practices or plays twice weekly. All participants must meet age guidelines as of March 1, 2018 (proof of age required with registration).

SCHOOL AGE CARE

SCHOOL’S OUT KIDS DAY OFF | FRIDAY, OCTOBER 6
A day off from school and adventure awaits! Join us for a day of fun, games (indoor and out, weather permitting) and crafts. Bring your lunch, we will supply the snack. Your child must be currently enrolled in grades K – 6. Our program hours are 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Early drop off at 7:30 a.m. and late pickup by 5:30 p.m. is available. The fee is $50 and the resident discount fee is $41.
