Pocomoke, MD – October 24, 2017

Are you between the ages of 18 and 24 and interested in discussing the strengths, challenges, and concerns you see in your community? The Worcester County Local Management Board (LMB) is hosting an open youth focus group from 1-1:30 p.m. on November 14, 2017 at the Pocomoke City Public Library. All Worcester County residents between 18 and 24 years old are invited to participate. Topics for

discussion include: education, employment and transportation options within the county, and how each of these areas affects the day-to-day lives of young adults.

“The Local Management Board wants to learn about the challenges facing Worcester County’s young adults,” said Jessica Sexauer, Director of the LMB, “and areas where they see opportunity for growth. We need them to help educate us on what the strengths and struggles are locally for their age group. These conversations will help guide plans of the Board in developing programs that can better meet the needs of youth in our community.”

The Management Board will provide a free lunch for individuals who attend the focus group. Participants will be entered to win a Kindle Fire for taking part in the discussion.

For more information on the focus group, please contact Christen Barbierri at 410-632-3648 or email at christen.barbierri@maryland.gov. Media requests should be sent to Travis Brown at travis.brown1@maryland.gov
